I can speak more from an IN perspective since I used to live there, but the Republicans ended the dedicated Indy to Chicago line. Considering at one point Indy had 495 daily trains, it’s just sad.

Extremely disappointed in @Amtrak @IDOT_Illinois @INDOT and @USDOT on the day of the eclipse for not drastically increasing the number of trains today between Chicago and: Carbondale, Cleveland and Indianapolis. Oh wait there are no trains to Indianapolis!

Auxiliary power and HVAC is down, which I assume means we’re swapping locomotives. Fun fact, I use a CPAP machine, so I can’t even sleep right now. Classic @Amtrak experience.
