Signal Problems in Washington
Signal is an encrypted communications application for Android and iOS. It uses the Internet to send one-to-one and group messages, which can include files, voice notes, images and videos, and make one-to-one voice and video calls. Signal uses standard cellular mobile numbers as identifiers, and uses end-to-end encryption to secure all communications to other Signal users.

.@signalapp you must rapidly add a way to note nicknames for Signal connections who have hidden their phones numbers. I now have 30 ppl named Jeff in my Signal messages and know way to know who is who, or even note that if I did.

@signalapp this most recent update is terrible. The recent update to Signal, whereby a contact’s phone number is hidden if that contact was not in one's phone system contacts, is an incredible mistake. For privacy reasons I did not move many of Signal contacts into my system…

@mer__edith @signalapp You don’t reference a single provision of H.R.7521. Lots of context and extrapolation, but no specifics about the bill itself. As a former Senate staffer: if you say a bill can be abused, there needs to be specific textual references to back that assertion up.
