Signal is an encrypted communications application for Android and iOS. It uses the Internet to send one-to-one and group messages, which can include files, voice notes, images and videos, and make one-to-one voice and video calls. Signal uses standard cellular mobile numbers as identifiers, and uses end-to-end encryption to secure all communications to other Signal users.

@DukeNuk34653734 @ReginaldPFunk @jack @mer__edith @signalapp @Snowden if you are someone, like yours truly, who understands what's at stake and want to take reasonable, not super onerous, precautions, you can't do better than TOR, Signal and disk encryption with TrueCrypt and similar. And of course, avoid cloud vendors and smart phones!

@ReginaldPFunk @jack @mer__edith @signalapp @Snowden dude, nobody is arguing -certainly I am not- that there is such thing as perfectly secure software. All software has bugs. We are talking about trust and how you build trust. TOR, Signal and TrueCrypt being open source, and in the case of the first two, being constantly audited..
