Signal is an encrypted communications application for Android and iOS. It uses the Internet to send one-to-one and group messages, which can include files, voice notes, images and videos, and make one-to-one voice and video calls. Signal uses standard cellular mobile numbers as identifiers, and uses end-to-end encryption to secure all communications to other Signal users.

@NorthFaceHiker In my sphere, even people in their 80's have WiFi capable mobile devices - we use Teams and Skype effortlessly. The kids (teen and under) think a voice conversation without video is "broken" - unless in an Xbox Party. @signalapp needs to drop the phone subscription requirement.

@GNNFZZ @derekmorr @cbar_tx @mer__edith @signalapp @mcuban @DustAppOfficial @krmaher @signal Also, it's weird to have so many women leading this project when most of the women on the planet are content to use cleartext SMS and get mad at anyone who suggests otherwise.

@GNNFZZ @derekmorr @cbar_tx @mer__edith @signalapp @mcuban @DustAppOfficial @krmaher @signal I just think it's dumb to use a centralized secure comms app that requires a subscription to a tracking device. That's all.

@GNNFZZ @derekmorr @cbar_tx @mer__edith @signalapp @mcuban Maybe @DustAppOfficial can prevent photos of screens from other devices.

@NorthFaceHiker @signalapp I've found that just about everyone who has a phone also has one or more reasonably secure apps that replace the phone's functions - if you ask. If someone calls me (PSTN to @Skype In), first order of business is how to upgrade the call to something secure with better audio.

@derekmorr @cbar_tx @mer__edith @010her0 @signalapp I don't really want people with my contact info giving it to every app Dev, but that ship failed long ago.

@cbar_tx @derekmorr @mer__edith @010her0 @signalapp A phone number requires a phone subscription. Why require a subscription from another company to use your products?

@derekmorr @cbar_tx @GNNFZZ @mer__edith @signalapp That's what disappearing messages by default are for.

@signalapp I want to pin more than 4 chats. Can this limitation be optional?

@dennisdoppler @mer__edith @010her0 @eden63884950 @signalapp I mean, I'm only asking because I've viewed some of the orders @signalapp has received - and I've also exonerated clients with mobile phone related expert witness testimony. In my expirience, when people know they explain - unless under duress. I'm only assuming she knows.
