As most people in security would tell you, @signalapp is the only secure chat app, @telegram has all chats insecure and readable by default unless you manually encrypt each one (with the green padlock symbol).

@derekmorr @signalapp A Signal conversation between former deputy assistant to the secretary of defense, @ChrisKMellon and Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick former head of AARO were released via FOIA. There were no arrests or search warrants.

I’m glad @signalapp exists. It’s sad that we need secure end-to-end chat in this world, but there are so many organizations and movements and life situations that require something like this. But oh my god is it the wrong app for 90% of chats. The tradeoffs are brutal
