About to go to sleep and suddenly alarms, beeps, frantic knocking at my bedroom door “dad dad the lights are all out!” Power outage. Had to - replace two smoke detector batteries that apparently were dead, so they beeped - unplug the freezer plug alarm that was going off loudly…

@CarrieMyHart @LarsLarsonShow My mother is on oxygen and there was a scheduled power outage. I had to bring over my generator to keep it going. You should at least get a couple of oxygen tanks if you don’t already have them. Maybe buy a Jackery as a backup power source.

@aidanj I see your point about price surges and power outages but I think the risk of this 40+ year old power plant collapsing in the event of a natural disaster and leaving toxic waste behind is a bigger concern for life in the area additionally,

The @cmpco outage list has gone down by a few thousand but still 1 in 4 CMP customers is without power. I’m most concerned right now about my food in the fridge become inedible
