Wix is increasing its annual rates for my personal site from £136 to £201. This is, in effect, for a site that does nothing but showcase some of my work. What is the advantage to having a personal site on @Wix vs. somewhere like @SubstackInc which also has a vast network?

@wilreynolds @Wix @PARRecycleWorks @SeerInteractive "Managing apps", ¿what do you mean? WordPress has plugins, addons, themes... but do not have apps to maintain. "updates to php", that is just select the version in a dropdown (optionally), when a new versions is released (maybe one a year).
I swear they make @wix extremely frustrating to use so that you eventually get frustrated to the point of punching your computer, and just hit the "Hire a Pro" button. This has to be one of the worst UX experiences ever...
