Signal Problems in Toronto
Signal is an encrypted communications application for Android and iOS. It uses the Internet to send one-to-one and group messages, which can include files, voice notes, images and videos, and make one-to-one voice and video calls. Signal uses standard cellular mobile numbers as identifiers, and uses end-to-end encryption to secure all communications to other Signal users.

@jason_kint It's been years that I do not install any apps from Meta/Facebook on my phone. I got completely disconnected from several friends since I stopped using whatsapp. I use mostly @signalapp and to a lesser extent @telegram

@DugganJared @GaryDevenay @adam3us @signalapp @TuckerCarlson @Snowden GrapheneOS provides extended support releases after devices are end-of-life but this shouldn't be used. Once a device is end-of-life, it lacks firmware updates and most driver updates so it cannot be reasonably secured anymore. Should take into account the length of support time.

Pixel 5a is too old and shouldn't be purchased at this point. 6th/7th generation Pixels have 5 years of support from launch, 8th generation has 7 years from launch but the Pixel 5a and earlier had 3 years.
